"That's exactly how I feel!" is a comment often repeated amid laughter and tears as people read the original poetry of Joanne Barnes. Joanne has been expressing her feelings through words ever since she was a child growing up in Danvers, Massachusetts. Her style of poetry straightforward and "form the heart". In the nineteen eighties, she began to market her poems, which she lettered in calligraphy, at local shows. At that time, each piece was done by hand, creating a somewhat exclusive and limited market. In response to the reaction and requests of many people, Joanne now offers affordable prints of her copyrighted poetry. Prints of her works are available as single pieces or as a collection taken from her book, "A Moment In Time", which is registered in the United States Copyright Office in the Library of Congress. Joanne also teaches school in Peabody, Massachusetts, where she has taught for the past twenty-five years. She currently resides in Kingston, New Hampshire. |
